CTV Danlambao / Translated by Ngoc Nhi Nguyen (Danlambao) - The atmostphere heats up hourly comes nearer to the time of the Court hearing of 3 activists Bui Thi Minh Hang, Nguyen Thi Thuy Quynh and Nguyen Van Minh, who have been accused of “disturbing public order”. The heavily choreographed trial is expected to take place at 7:30 am, on the 26 August 2014 at the People's Court of Dong Thap Province (Address: No. 1, Le Qui Don, Ward 1, Dist. Cao Lanh, Dong Thap Province).
The current crackdown situation in Cao Lanh city is very fierce. Hundreds of police patrol cars are present everywhere in the city at all intersections and bus stations. Unit 113 of police force are in position awaiting to immediately arresst any familiar activists face that show up.
At 6:30pm on 25th August, 5 people who arrived to attend the trial were arrested by police at Sa Dec bus station. They are Bui Tien Hung, Hoang Van Dung, Trung Van Dung, Mai Phuong Thao, and Nguyen Nu Phuong Dung; all are now being held at the police station.
Reportedly, all 5 people were arrested by the police at Phuong Trang hotel (Khanh Hoa residential area, Ward 2, Sa Dec town). These people are believed to be held at the police headquarters of Ward 2, Address: National Highway 80, clusters 3, ward 2, Sa Dec Town, Dong Thap. Phone Number: +84 67 3861 713
As noted by Danlambao, there had been at least 30 cases in all 3 regions of the country (North, Central and South) where the police harassed anyone trying to go to Dong Thap to attend the trial. Some were threatened and others were barricaded inside their own homes to prevent them from leaving.
When the news is being updated, sources informed Danlambao that Ms. Huynh Phuong Ngoc and Nguyen Thi Anh Ngan (Huynh Trong Hieu's wife) and children are surrounded by police who locked the house front door from the outside at 147 Hung Vuong Street, Ward 2.
Clearly, although Bui Hang is in jail, the fighting spirit of this resilient woman is still enough to make the communist party as well as the whole police department panick.
In spite of the serious attempts by the police to stop, harass and terrorize those going to the trial, a large number of people from all 3 regions managed to bypass them all to get to Dong Thap. The more the police tried to suppress it, the higher the spirit of the people became.
It is rare to see an event which can inspire the people as much as the trial on the 26 August 2014.
Below is a list of people whom were harassed and threatened by the police to stop them from attending the supposedly open trial in Dong Thap:
1- Pham Thanh Nghien: barricated at home by the police from 22/08/2014.
2- Dr. Nguyen Dan Que.
3- Pham Ba Hai: told by the police on the 21/08/2014 to remain at home until after the 26/08/2014.
4- Dr. Pham Chi Dung: on 23/08 was summoned to the police department on the 25/08 to answer questions related to what he wrote on Facebook.
5- Venerable Thich Khong Tanh, Lien Tri Pagoda. The pagoda is surrounded by the police from the 22/8.
6- Lawyer Le Cong Dinh: guarded daily by police and was fined on the 22/08 for “breaching probation condition” when he traveled too far from his home.
7- Phan Thanh Hai: guarded by police from the morning of 22/8.
8- Duong Thi Tan (wife of Blogger Dieu Cay): house surrounded by police from 23/8.
9- Nguyen Tri Dung (son of Blogger Dieu Cay):under constant police surveillance. Local security personel wanted to enter the house to talk to him but he refused.
10- Journalist Truong Minh Duc: house searched by police on 21/08.
11- Nguyen Bac Truyen and his wife Bui Thi Kim Phuong: constantly followed by police for many days. Police made several threats and harassed about place of residence.
12- Pham Minh Hoang, teacher: under police surveillance from 22/08.
13- Ta Tri Hai, musician: guarded by police, anyone coming to visit him also gets harassed and threatened by the police. 14- Nguyen Huu Cau, ex political prisoner: midday on the 25/08, several policemen stormed into his bedroom to harass him.
15- Le Doan The: constantly harassed by the police. Outraged by the way he was treated by the police, Mr The sat outside his home to protest the police, who had tried everything to stop him from going to Dong Thap to attend a trial which is supposed to be open to the public.
16- Nguyen Viet Hung: police came to his home to give a verbal order that he was not allowed to go to Dong Thap to attend the trial.

22- Nguyen Van De: noon 24/08 was forced to go to the local police department at Cau Buou to answer questions. Later was taken to Thanh Tri police department for more questioning. About 5pm on the 25/08 he was allowed to leave but was still followed closely by the police force.
23- Mai Thanh Facebooker: taken into questioning by the police on 2 days 24 and 25/08. She has now left the police station but her home is still under surveillance.
24- Nguyen Van Thanh: stopped by the police when was going to board the plane from Vinh to Saigon to go to Dong Thap.
25- Le Thanh Tung: evening of 24/08, received summoning letter from the police department in Tang Nhon Phu B, ward 9 to be report to the police on the 25/08 to answer questions related to the matter at hands.
26- Journalist Huynh Ngoc Chenh: 10 policemen keep watch around his house.
27- Nguyen Hoang Vi: followed closely by several policemen.
28- Pham Dac Dat: arrested by police on the way to the airport to fly to Saigon.

It is also heard that a number of young people from Nghe An CA was intercepted when trying to board a plane to get to Dong Thap to attend the trial such as: Facebookesr Bin Bun, Nguoi Xu Bo Son and Dung Nguyen Quan...
